چکیده

The aim is to develop a mechanically flexible polymer nanocomposite film-based strain sensors that could act towards sustainable structural health monitoring for civil structures. developed film combinations will be monitored their structural, electrical and mechanical behaviors the optimized formulations tried sensing applications. films were cast by using PVA as base copper doped silver nitrate nanofiller along with use of glycine fuel which combination nitrate. After preparing films, they tested conductivity under tensile loading digital multi meter connected UTM. samples subjected XRD, FTIR SEM further analysis. results experiments shown I-V characteristics PVA-CuAgO composites from 5% 25% CuAgO have been increased tremendously incorporation filler material. For 100 V, maximum current value obtained plain only 7.7E-8 A, whereas particles 0.0025 A at reinforcements nearly 0.025 into matrix.

An Experimental Study on the Effect of Temperature on Piezoelectric Sensors for Impedance-Based Structural Health Monitoring

The electromechanical impedance (EMI) technique is considered to be one of the most promising methods for developing structural health monitoring (SHM) systems. This technique is simple to implement and uses small and inexpensive piezoelectric sensors. However, practical problems have hindered its application to real-world structures, and temperature effects have been cited in the literature as...

Bragg grating-based fibre optic sensors in structural health monitoring.

This work first considers a review of the dominant current methods for fibre Bragg grating wavelength interrogation. These methods include WDM interferometry, tunable filter (both Fabry-Perot and acousto-optic) demultiplexing, CCD/prism technique and a newer hybrid method utilizing Fabry-Perot and interferometric techniques. Two applications using these techniques are described: hull loads moni...

Rate-based structural health monitoring using permanently installed sensors

Permanently installed sensors are becoming increasingly ubiquitous, facilitating very frequent in situ measurements and consequently improved monitoring of 'trends' in the observed system behaviour. It is proposed that this newly available data may be used to provide prior warning and forecasting of critical events, particularly system failure. Numerous damage mechanisms are examples of positiv...
